This year I’m wanting to teach my family the gift of giving. I’ve been thinking about going to the Dollar Tree and buying toys for Boys and Girls, and having my kids wrap them. Then on Christmas morning, set off with a bag of toys, and my husband dressed as Santa and going to the low income homes, and delivering presents. I’m even thinking of dressing our kids up as elves. Not sure how well it will work, but I’m seriously thinking about it.
I want the kids to grow up to appreciate what they have. I work 2 jobs and I sell Avon, and I make sure they have what they need. Not all kids have parents that are able to work or if they can work, they can’t make enough to support their families.
I came from a poor family and I know what it’s like, not to have much under the Christmas Tree. In a way, I feel it helped me to understand Christmas more, and not to expect much. So bringing the gifts to others, will help my family to understand the meaning of Christmas.
I feel this is the season to give and to love each other. If the whole world would love each other and realize we are all the same race, the Human Race, and were in it together, then we would truly be happy 🙂
